Independent marketing consulting

SEO & AI visibility consulting

I help businesses and organizations make their websites clearer and easier to find. The work can include service-page content, technical search reviews, and visibility in AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini.

What we can work on

Service pages and customer questions

I review whether your pages explain what you offer, who it is for, and what a potential customer needs to know before getting in touch. We can improve existing pages or develop content where useful information is missing, drawing on your actual expertise and customer questions.

Technical search foundations

The review can cover indexing and crawler access, page titles, internal links, mobile usability, and structured data that accurately describes the visible content. I make changes within the agreed scope and coordinate with your developer where their involvement is needed.

Search and AI visibility

I use available Search Console information to understand the queries and pages bringing people to your site. We can also review a relevant set of questions in AI search tools, looking at whether your business appears and whether the answers describe it accurately.

How SEO, AEO and GEO fit together

SEO focuses on helping people find your website through search engines. AEO, or Answer Engine Optimization, focuses on making your content useful for direct answers to potential customers’ questions. GEO, or Generative Engine Optimization, focuses on how your business and content are represented or referenced in AI-generated answers.

Much of the practical work overlaps: clear service information, useful answers, accessible pages, and evidence of your experience. For your business, that might mean explaining a service more clearly, filling an information gap, or making it easier to move from an answer to an inquiry.

What an engagement can include

We begin with your website, the services you want to promote, and the questions you hear from prospective customers. From there, we agree on the pages, responsibilities, and measures that fit the project.

  • A prioritized review of content and technical issues.
  • Revised or new pages within the agreed scope.
  • Clear recommendations for changes that need your team or developer.
  • A way to review search visibility, referrals, and relevant inquiries using the data available.

This can be a focused project or part of ongoing marketing support.

Related experience

For Energo, I develop and refine service pages, articles, and FAQs across heating oil, HVAC, and related services, using Search Console, internal links, and structured data to inform the work.

For Ptown Perch, my own hospitality business, I build and maintain the website and develop local and seasonal guides around the questions visitors ask. That includes accommodation information, booking paths, and reviewing how people find the site.

Questions about search and AI visibility

Can you guarantee that my business appears in ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini?

No. Each platform decides what to show, and answers can change with the question and context. I can work on your content, discoverability, and the accuracy of the information available about your business. Inclusion or a particular position cannot be guaranteed.

Do we need to replace the whole website?

We start by reviewing what you already have. The scope may be a small set of service-page improvements, technical corrections, or new information that helps customers make a decision. A rebuild would need a clear reason and its own agreed scope.

How will we know whether the work is helping?

Where data is available, we establish a starting point and review changes in relevant search queries, page visibility, visits, and inquiries. Checks of AI answers provide useful examples, but they are snapshots rather than a complete measure of visibility. A rise in visits also needs to be considered alongside the quality of the inquiries received.

Let’s talk

Let’s look at your website.

Send your website and a few lines about the services you want people to find. We can discuss whether a focused review or ongoing support would make sense.
